I Swear I’m Not Crazy.
I had a really strange nightmare last night. I don’t really remember the story in the nightmare but it was definitely scary. For some reason some guy was speaking to me… inside my head, I can’t remember exactly what he was saying but I know he was giving me directions around this mansion. At one point I walked up to a figure in a chair. It was a faceless black velvet mannequin, with a man’s haircut, wearing a grey suit. It had its knees drawn up to its chest. I reached out to touch it and I saw a black mass move in my peripheral vision. I spun around just in time to see it rush out the door.
The voice was still speaking to me in a loud whisper. I ran out to the hall and looked to one side down the long corridor and saw nothing, the voice said something like “it’s here” and when I turned around the black mass was almost on top of me. This feeling of terror rushed through my entire body and I was frozen. It moved towards me in slow motion, it seemed, for about 10 seconds. I noticed the staircase behind the figure and made the snap decision to run for it.
As I busted through the black mass, it knocked the wind out of me and I couldn’t breathe, but I did make it through. I bounded down the seemingly endless staircase and more masses appeared, out of doors and other corridors, I still couldn’t breathe. As I turned a corner to start down another set of stairs I felt my leg snap and I fell down the stairs with great and heavy impact. After a couple of snapped bones, I blacked out. When I came to, there were a total of 12 black masses standing around me and one over me, just floating. I tried to move but couldn’t, nor could I breathe, and still the voice was talking to me. All the black masses started moving closer and as I stared at the one above me, it began to sprout eyes. They’d start barely open and slowly grow wider. By the time it had dozens of eyes it was about 6 inches from my face, and looking around the other black masses just had one, very large, eye in their center. Then I sprung awake with a gasp and really wondered what the hell that was all about.
